Hello,
I created a video for this next lesson! Click play in the video above, or find the YouTube link Here! For this lesson, think back to the scavenger hunt from last week. Did you find everything? Do you remember where everything is kept? This week, choose one (or two) item that you found in the scavenger hunt. We will draw this item. We will focus on a different type of drawing called contour drawing. Contour drawing is where you focus on the "outline" of the object. We will be drawing simple lines that outline, or the edges of the object. You may choose any art material. I chose a crayon-like tool and a pen. You can use a pencil, marker, or anything that makes sense to you. Don't erase any mark you make. Every line matters. Mistakes are okay! Once you finish, you can take a photo and email your drawing to me. You may also do this project over and over again. Contour drawing is a great way to practice drawing and have fun.

For our first at-home art project, I am asking everyone to put their creativity to the test with a scavenger hunt! Try to find everything on this checklist. If you are unable to find something, who can you ask to find the item? Is there another item that you can find that's similar? Once you have found all of your materials, take note of where these materials are kept! Were you able to find everything? Did you have to find a different item instead?
These items and tools may be important for future use. These materials will be your artist tool kit. We will use some of these materials for our next project! |
