Hello,
We are going to draw self-portraits again! Remember, portraits are faces. Materials:
Review of the portrait drawing process that we had back in school: STEPS: 1. We start with an oval or egg shape 2. Draw two lines in the middle – middle lines One going up and down The other going left and right 3. Draw eyes on the horizontal middle line We call this the eye line 4. Mark the middle point between the eyes and the chin This is for your nose - the nose line 5. Make one more middle point between the nose and the chin for your mouth We can make this into the Mouth Line 6. Add your eyebrows and neck Add your ears, which goes between the eye line and the nose line 7. Add your hair 8. Don’t forget your shirt! 9. When you’re done with the portrait, then you can go back and erase the lines. If the lines won’t erase, that means we have to practice how much pressure we use and draw more lightly. Background Prompt: I am asking myself, what kind of world do I want to create for myself? You can always add more detail or color to your portrait. The more you practice, the easier this process becomes. You can extend this project to draw portraits of your family members, or of people you admire.
This is our last project for this year.
Thank you, It has been my pleasure teaching you all this year. - <3 Ms. Ortiz
